My Blood Pressure Was 214/120. I Went To My Local

My blood pressure was 214/120. I went to my local ER and they gave me a drug through IV to bring it down. The lowest it came down was 189/94. I contacted my doctor and they gave me Aripoprazole,. what I thought was another bp pill. Turns out it is an anti depressant. I have taken my bp 3 times per day since and I have an appointment with my cardiologist. My question to you, why was I prescribed an anti depression for my blood pressure?
