My brother is 71 yrs old and for all his life he was very active and athletic. But the past 8 months have been horrific. It started with a fall down several stairs which led to cervical surgery fusing the 3rd, 4th and 5th cervical vertebrae. He went through several weeks of rehab and was improving. However, he is now on a walker. In addition, he has lost his balance and fallen 4 times leading to going to the ER, having CT and MRI's, etc. He was then told that he had fractured his T11 and went through a Kypoplasty procedure to repair that. The back pain has been very severe and his mobility quite challenged. Then, he fell again and now has fractured his T12. He had to return to the ER and remain in the hospital and on Wed. he will have another Kyphoplasty to repair the T12. He is now in a nursing home/rehaab facility and has been told that since he lives with his girlfriend and she cannot take care of him 24/7...he must remain in the nursing home for at least 60 days. This is in hopes that he will get a great deal of PT and get stronger...so that he will not be such a "fall risk." He has been told that his bones are very brittle. Needless to say, he is extremely, depressed, worried, and afraid that he will never get well and continue to fracture many more bones and maybe...never be able to come home. I am terribly worried about him and am desperately seeking some answers and help for this wonderful person. PLEASE HELP! Thank you with all my heart, email address is YYYY@YYYY
