Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

It seems from the description that you are suffering from Chronic Paronychia (nail fold infection).

Majority of the Chronic paronychia are caused by Fungi. So local applications of antifungal agents like clotrimazole , ketoconazole should be used for 6-8 weeks.

There are few measures which may improve paronychia -
* Keep the fingers dry & warm
* Wash thoroughly after dirty work with soap and water, rinse off and dry carefully.
* Apply a emollient hand cream frequently - dimethicone creams may help.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
