My Husband Had A Robotic Colon Resection Done On September

My husband had a robotic colon resection done on September 28th. the robotic arm nicked blood vessel in his skin and was bleeding from incision - Dr. added a stitch. He continued to bleed internally (didn't know this) and the blood became infected in his abdomen. Ambulance ride back to hospital on October 3rd and emergency surgery on Oct 4th. cut laterally to clean out abdomen - put in ileostomy. (20 days ago). He felt the urge to have bm today and had small rectal bm (not mucus) - stool. the size of larger tootsie roll and more than one. Should he be concerned and how could this happen?
