My Mother Is A Chronic Patient Of Depression. Has Diabetes

hi........................ this is regarding my mother she is 58 yrs old having diabety since last 6 yrs she is on insulin from last 3 yrs.in the starting sugar levels were high now its ups and downs up in the morning and down in the evening.its related with depression she is having total control on diet .she is cronic patient of depression

if your question is, is it related to depression, the answer would be yes....control of glucose is dependent on many things which are influenced by mood and if one is depressed then they will all be affected.

If your question is does she have depression? then you must consult a psychiatrist who will take a detailed history and let you know about that as there are lot of questions answered first before you can give a label like that.

Evidence from studies show that diabetics are at more risk of depression lika nay other chronic disease and that depression does effect the diabetic control.
