My Son Has A Wound On The Side Of His

My son has a wound on the side of his big toe that the GP currently has him on e-mycin as it tested sensitive to staph. he is on his second course of the antibiotic and the wound is still weeping each morning. would it be useful to soak his foot in diluted dettol daily as well?
