Neck Swollen And Sore Throat. The Swelling Is Subsiding. Why Is She Weak?

My sister woke up with a very sore neck and throat with her neck swollen to double size. It was determined that her saliva gland was infected. She was hospitalized for a week and then released once the swelling was subsiding. She continues to have a pea sized lump in her gland and a fever of 99 to 101 for over a month. She is very weak and can only stand and be busy for 20 minutes at a time then her fever spikes and she has to lie down...she has been off work and is very concerned at how long this is taking. Any suggestions? Treatment?
