I m Anushani, mother of a two year old boy. he was having fever last week and complained about a stomach pain . so i got a urine report as he got an urine infection when he was one month old. the report says everything is normal, pus cells - !-2, Red cells- occasional, epithelial cells- few, protein and others nil . is there anything wrong ?? fever was ok after two days.
Your baby's urine report is absolutely normal. Up to 5 pus cells in urine are normal /HPF. Epithelial cells are basically normal cells that represent contamination of the urine specimen with skin cells. It is very common and is not concerning. Other findings are also within normal limit. Fever might be due to other reasons.
