Need Medication For Flu & High Fever
i believe i have the flu- high fever\then teeth chattering cold feeling-last time i experienced these symptoms was 7 or 8 years ago with strep thoat- this time no sore throat had these symptoms for 3 days (long time for me)- i am drinking as much water as i can- alternating between tylenol and ibuprofen for headaches and fever- i am 51 year old male non-smoker-non drinker with a healthy lifestyle- married, same spouse long time no drug use my concern is on my right inner thigh i have an area about 4 x2 irritated, now painful (affecting my walk) i am going to clinic tomorrow- any feedback Bill Wright- canada

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of flu & high fever. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are due to viral infection or viral pharyngitis. It is due to poor and compromised immunity of body and increased susceptibility of getting infected. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles several times a day , drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and consult pulmonologist for proper examination. Doctor may order throat swab test and blood test . Usually it will go away by its own in few days , but doctor may prescribe antiviral like acyclovir , anti inflammatory along with drug like sucralfate to heal throat lining in severe cases .
