Need Medication For Red Rash On Inner Elbows With Raised Bumps
My son has a red rash on his inner elbows, with slightly raised bumps, that rarely itches. He also has a red scaly rash on his lower back and abdomen. He was diagnosed with dry skin and given a prescription cream for dryness. It got much worse. He did not return. He tried aquaphor ointment but that helped slightly with dryness and the rash still does not go away and actually seems to have gotten worse. This has been going on for nearly 2 years. He is now very self conscious about the rash as well as uncomfortable. Any ideas? Thank you for your help.
Your son seems to suffer from atopic dermatitis most probably. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. It is caused by some allergens. Find out the allergens responsible for the disease and avoid them. Soap, wool, grass, sprays, pollens etc., can trigger the disease. Dietary stuffs like nuts, fish, prawns, chicken, eggs, soya, cow milk, banana and so many other may be stopped. Stress, sun exposure may also induce the disease.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
