Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have been told that I need a knee replacement over a year ago. The pain has been getting progressively worst. I have been getting steroid injections every 3 month, which helps for a few weeks, I have been taking lyrica, which helps, but I sleep alot and can not drive. Any other suggestions, other than a knee replacement. I am 54yrs old and have been on several meds. Nothing works but the lyrica. thanks
Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist, Chintan Pujara's Response
hello, i would suggest you to start exercising your quadriceps muscle, try to improve its strength and range too, you can also wear a hinged knee brace in case it hurts too much while walking. avoid cross legged sitting, prolonged standing, prolonged knee bending, squatting. hope this helps
