Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had Mitral Valve replacement three months ago since then I have had a fib on a continuos basis. My heart rate is constintely high between 107-138 now blood pressure is high again. Today after seeing my doctor I was placed on a heart monitor for the 5th time. I will go for another echocardiogram on Monday. After listening to my chest and hearing all my symptoms my doctor thinks I have fluid around my heart what can be done if that's true.
Post mitral valve replacement surgery, if there is fluid around heart it is called peri cardinal effusion. If it is more , then requires tapping. If fluid overload, diuretics do help.
