Hello,
Welcome to Health care magic forum.
I totally understand what you are going through. It is difficult for me to exactly pin point what the diagnosis is, without actually seeing your vocal cords.
Change of voice/ changes is pitch/ volume can occur due to any lesion on your vocal cords. You could be having vocal nodules/ polyps which are beningn lesions and simple to treat. You could also be just having a
reflux laryngitis, as your doctor suggested.
I advise you the following measures:
Give absolute rest to your voice box. Do not shout/scream/ whisper. All these are damaging to your voice box.
Drink plenty of water and avoid foods which are acidic/spicy/ fried and sour. Take an
antacid like pantaprazole for 2 weeks on empty stomach.
Get Voice therapy/
speech therapy done by a professional. They will train you on proper usage of your voice.
If not better with above measures, do not neglect your voicebox, and consult a Specialist.

Dr Vaishali Mehta
