Here is my MRI result: both the tail and head of pancreas are bulky. The common bile duct measures 10 mm, midportion measures 8 mm and more distally 5 mm with further tapering. No common duct calculi or obstruction is seen. I have upper abdomen pain, I lost weight, but my blood work is normal. Is it pancreatitis or something else?
Hi! I read carefully your query. I think that are two main causes: 1 - Enlargement of pancreas (inflammatory) to verify that you should run these exams( Amilazemi,Lipazemi) 2 - Tumoral mass of pancreas. Wishing you health.
Most probably you are suffering from acute pancreatitis. Bulky pancreas indicate towards this. CBD dilatation may be due to recent passage of calculus. But you didn't mentioned about serum amylase and lipase. Serum lipase is specific for pancreatitis. So you get the investigations done. You also need clinical examination by surgeon. Get well soon.
