Nose Bleeding, Congestion And Discomfort From Nostril, Blood From Throat. Cause?
MY BOYFRIEND IS 53 YEARS OLD HES BEEN HAVING NOSE BLEEDS ALMOST EVERYNIGHT MOSTLY FROM LEFT NOSTRIL AND CONGESTION AND DISCOMFORT. RECENTLY HE HAS EXPERIENCED BLOOD COMMING FROM THE THROAT NOW. IT SEEMS TO BE WORSE AT NIGHT. ANY SUGGESTIONS TO WHAT IT MAY BE CAUSING THIS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. I DO NOT HAVE A CREDIT CARD TO PAY FOR AN ANSWER IS THERE A SITE I COULD BE REFERRED TO WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY A FEE?

If I were your's boyfriend treating doctor for this type of bleeding from nose , I would come up with these possibilities , these includes.
1 Hyper tension as the age of this patient is 53 years , so very prone to high blood pressure . High blood causes rupture of small arteries as in nose and small blood vessels ruptures and causes bleeding . Diagnosis can be confirmed by examination of blood pressure.
2 Local disease in the left side of nose . Diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination by an E N T .
3 Bleeding disorder, diagnosis can be confirmed by examination of bleeding time and clotting time.
In my opinion consult a physician and get his opinion regarding high blood pressure.
