Not Able To Digest Dairy Products And Spicy Food After Stopped Smoking. Frequent Bowel Movements. Need To See A GI Doctor?

I am 31 years old. I recently quit smoking (just got off the patches a week ago, but have not smoked in over two months). Since I quit, my body seems like it is failing me more and more. I know it is probably just coincidence that this happened right after I quit smoking, but I wanted to know if there might be a correlation. About two years ago, I stopped being able to digest dairy. It is my understanding that it is not uncommon for people to develop lactose intolerance later in life. At first it was just large amounts of dairy that got me (such as a few slices of pizza or a grilled cheese sandwich or something), but now it seems like all dairy, no matter how much (like butter spread on toast), sends me running to the restroom. And just recently (like, within the last two months), I have had problems with red meat, such as hamburger, sending me running to the restroom as well. Spicy foods also aggravate my bowels almost immediately (within 5 minutes of eating some hot wings the other day, I was in the restroom).

Should I go see a GI doctor, or would a regular physician suffice in diagnosing me?
