If I was the treating doctor I would suggested to use a topical potent steroid e.g Mometasone furoate cream, twice daily for a few days. That should take care of the redness and itching sensation.
A short course of an oral steroids for a few days (7 days) is also warranted would bring about rapid relief from swelling and discomfort.
She should be fine within 5-7 days.
An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg once daily would help in providing symptomatic relief from burning and itching.
regards
