Numbness In Back Of Right Shoulder, Swelling On Right Hand, In Menopause Stage. Any Ideas?

Hi, this question is concerning my mom. Lately she has been feeling numbness in the back of her right shoulder; I want to say right behind the crease of her arm pit & she has also noticed swelling on her right hand. Can you advise what may be causing this. I also want to add that she is in her 50's and is In her menopause stage.

Hello ,

thanks for writing to us
I am Dr. Vaibhav Gandhi, I am Orthopaedic surgeon and spine specialist.
I have studied your case.

The cause of frequent problem -this kind of pain is due to compression of nerve because of spinal disc bulge. Nerve compression lead to radiating pain in arm and hand along with swelling, which aggravated on long time sitting in same particular position.

You need x ray cervical spine and shoulder and if required MRI.
you need methylcobalamine , muscle relaxant with analgesic.

take rest , , hot or cold fomentation
