Numbness In Feet, Jolting Pain Like Electric Shock. Had Cellulitis In Legs Months Back. Diabetic. Taking Norco. Suggestions?

A few months ago I had cellulitis in both legs from the toes to above the knees. I have been diabetic most of my adult life and not very well controlled. Before the cellulitis I was hospitalized and in ICU for a few for DKA. I have had some numbness in my feet but never this kind of pain until I had cellulitis. It feels like my legs are on fire, sometimes I get a jolting pain like an electrical shock. I have stoic all my life so for me to be near tears with this chronic pain is not the way I usually handle things. Do you have any suggestions for me? I have been taking Norco 7.5 b.i.d. with very little results.

Thank you

Hello,
Severe pains and numbness in your feet are due to diabetic neuropathy resulting from years of uncontrolled diabetes.Neuropathic pains are really bothersome and really become very difficult to treat.
However there is nothing to get despondent as there are various drugs available which can be tried like..
Anti depressants like DULOXETINE
Anti convulsants like PREGABLIN
Take VIT D and VIT B 12, as these will help you a lot.
Talk to your doctor regarding this.I hope you shall definitely get tremendous relief.
Thanks
