Numbness In The Leg And Intense Pain After A Fall. Will There Be A Permanent Injury?

hi! I fell down almost 7 weeks ago. I woke up with a numb leg but i tried to to take a step before i realized that my leg was numb, then I fell down (i was not fully awake so i dont remember how it exactly happened) and had the most intense pain of my life. I am using braces and a cane. I had an xray done, no fractures were found. i am really worried about how long this is taking to heel. I am concerned that my injury may be permanent. I have also noticed that my injured leg is getting thinner than my other leg. what should I do? thank you for your help!

Hello,
Welcome at HCM.

I have read your query.

Thinning of leg can be there due to disuse of leg due to pain.

If there is associated excessive pain then this can be due to injury at back or injury to hip. There can also be stretched nerve at your leg.

You should not delay & consult to your doctor& have investigation like MRI , NCV & EMG study of leg. These investigations can be prescribed to evaluate injury to nerves of leg.

Hope this all will help you.

With best wishes.
