Numbness In Wrist, Thumb And Fingers After Heart Cath. What Should I Do?
I had a heart cath done on November 29th of 2012. Every since then my wrist has been numb and my thumb and first and second finger are cold and numb all the time. My index finger nail turns blue sometimes. I have constant pain in the wrist to my elbow . I drop things if I do not pay close attention. What should I do?
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. This is due to radial nerve palsy ( partial ) hence the supplying area of this nerve effected. The bluish coloration of nail of index finger may be due to hamper in blood supply by any branch of radial artery. However numbness, of thumb, index & middle finger ( lateral half of ring finger , not mentioned in query) may be due to radial artery blood supply line damage or effected. So you have to consult the Cardiologist and get his opinion. Good luck. Dr. HET
