Nursing Baby, Feeding 3 Times In Night, Unable To Get Back To Sleep. Any Vitamins Can Be Taken?
I have a baby 4 months of age and mostly I woke up to feed him 3 times at night. My problem is once I woke up in the middle of night, I cannot back to sleep. Mostly I waited 3 hours before I get back to sleep and the baby is already awake that time to ask for feeding again. What are the vitamins should I take? I am 33 years of age, female, 5 2 . No problem sleeping since the baby came. Please help! Thanks.
Hi there, thanks for asking. you can take tryptophan tablets 500 to 1000 mg before sleep or take milk or turkey which have lots of tryptophan to help sleep. You can also take vitamin B6 which help synthesis of serotonin from tryptophan in the brain.
You may take melatonin before sleep, but there is not enough studies to show that there is no harm for the baby if you are breast feeding.
You should take enough magnesium and calcium otherwise your sleep will find some difficulty.
You may take some green tea before sleep since it can help for decreasing anxiety and it may be a cause of sleep problem. Best wishes.
