On Benicar For Elevated BP And Anxiety. Any Side Effects For Benicar?

My husband Jim has been prescribed Benicar 20MG for his elevated bp and anixety. He has been taking the medication for approx. 3 years and is monitored by a Doc. He has asked me to to some research on the Drug he is worried that Benicar may not be a good bp med to take long term. He has been exercising regularly, weights, walking and has lost about 30 lbs and has kept it off for one year. He eats healthy snacks, mid AM and Mid afternoon to keep himself leve. He has a few drinks a week, wine beer mostly. He is concerned about long term affects.

All drugs have side effects and Benicar is no exception. When any drug is approved by FDA, and prescribed a physician its side effects are weighted against its benefits and when benefits outnumber the side effects only then the drug is approved, marketed and prescribed by physician .Benicar has the usual side effects which are with every medicine, No long term serious side effect has been reported till date.
