On Bystolic, Was On Amlodipine Besylate. Drop In Bp. Suggest An Alternative Beta Blocker

I'm interested in knowing when Bystolic 5mg will be available in generic. It's soooooo expensive! Mr. doctor switched me from Amlodipine Besylate and my blood pressure dropped measurably on the second day! I'm not sure I can justify spending the money for the 90-day supply, even at a Costco membership price. Is there a comparable beta blocker that is well tolerated and not as pricey?

Thanks, J. Carson

Dear Sir/ Madam
Thanks for writing to us.
The patent for nebivolol in USA will expire in December 2021.
There are a number of generic alternative beta-blockers available. These include metoprolol tartarate & bisoprolol. However each drug, despite belonging to same class have certain unique properties. Since your physician is the best judge, you must consult him before changing the medication.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder
