On And Off Sharp Pain In Left Leg, Started From Under Knee, Spreading To Knee, Groin, Difficulty Walking. Have Arthritis In Joints. Help

i'm experiencing a pain in my left leg for a few days allready, it started down under my knee as a sharp pain, traveling up to my knee and now is close to my groin and it is coming and going as a very sharp pain, I never had that before, I do have a arthritis in my joins and now I do have dificulties even with a walking and at night it is very uncomfortable , keeping me awake....I'm female, 49yrs. old

Hi,

This looks like something different from arthritis. The fact that you have pain from knee upto groins suggests it is due to some nerve disorder such as neuralgia etc. This means that a nerve supplying your thigh is effected. Usually such radiating pains are seen in such conditions. You can take some pain killers such as opiods, carbamazepine adjusted to your weight and age. Meanwhile it would help if you can see a dcotor who can carry out an examination and some tests to pinpoint the affected nerve and its reasons to get effected and take appropriate measures.
