Hello Suresh and thanks writing in at HCM
Firstly Oral medication for diabetes are taken half an hour before meals but make sure that you take meal after half an hour of medicine.
The sugar level is well controlled by this medication at early stage. Sugar levels much depend on the meal you have taken. Take the meal as indicated in diabetes i.e. no sugar, no rice, no potato, on fat, oil and junk food, use more baked food and do regular exercise. After these precautions check you fasting and PP blood sugar level. If it is still high than consult your doctor for revised medication.
Please don't try to stop medication and take the medication at a fix time because diabetes is silent killer.
Best Wishes

hi,

thanks for choosing hcm,

your medicine can be taken half hour before meal or immediately after food
decide well because ,if you are taking medicine before meal be sure that you take your food within half an hour
but you should see to it that you take it on a fixed time daily
food also should be taken at same time everyday

try to understand that diabetes has no cure, but one can lead a normal life if properr care is taken
1.good balanced diabetic diet and exercise
2.frequent blood glucose monitoring(you can use glucometer available in medical shops if you can manage to do the test at home)
3.get blood glucose tested in a lab(venous blood sample)once in a month
4.HbA1c test once in 3 months
5.complete physical examination once in an year
6.eye should be taken care, any disturbances in vision should be immediately reported to an eye doctor ,apart from regular visit once in an year
7.diabetic foot care is a very important one.

diabetic diet:
1.stop sugar,salt,sweets
2.reduce fatty foods
3.reduce fast foods
4.non vegetarian foods can be taken but less spicy

add bittergourd,fenugreek(menthulu),fiber foods to diet
take limited amount of food...
small amounts many times a day to maintain regular constant blood glucose levels
stop taking rice at night
go for lighter food at night

meet your doctor regularly

1 hour of walking is compulsary daily

talk to your doctor to know more about diabetic foot care

Keep blood pressure and cholesterol under control

the reason regarding variations in your values is your diet including disproportionate carbohydrates etc

so dont stop your medication, please continue

hope i answered your query

feel free to contact me for further queries
thank you
