On Injecting Forteao For Osteoporosis Bone Density Treatment. Can Forteao Be Used More Than 2 Years?
I am a white 87 yo male. I have been injecting FORTEAO (Rx) for osteoporosis bone density treatment. after a broken hip in N. Florida. Very effective. I went from 50% below to 50% above the line at a six month retest. There were side effects (aching bones, increasing with use). I stopped using and then restarted after a few days and so advised my Dr. She didn`t object. I finally stopped using after about the fourteenth month into a TWO YEAR proposed program. I moved to S. Florida and my new Dr. Reordered the Rx. I have been on it now, about a year. The original Rx was limited to two years because IT had not been tested longer than that. IS FORTEAO A LIMITED USE item. george
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. Forteao can be used for longer than two years if there is a need to do so. It is best to consult your orthopedician and get yourself clinically evaluated to get more prescriptions if needed. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
