On Penicillin And Hydrocodone For Pulled Out Tooth. Using Monistat For Yeast Infection, Burning And Itching. Time To Heal?
I had a tooth pulled and they prescribed penicillin & hydrocodone to me. Well after 5 days I got a very nice present of a yeast infection, in which I haven t had since I was in High school (20 years ago). So I went and bought Monistat with the 3 day insertibles with cream. I have finished the 3 day inserts and still have the burning/slight itching. How long does it take to heal?? Am I being impatient thinking it should be gone already? Do I need to get a RX? I have spoken to some other women & they tell me when they are prescribed antibiotics they always get an RX for yeast infections.
Hi and thanks for the query, I do think its really too early to worry, It is important to take your drugs as prescribed. Depending on the intensity of the surgery, the duration of time that healing shall take differs. The degree of tooth infection or decay really determines the duration required for healing. Persistence of pain or symptoms could simply imply ineffective treatment or that other teeth might be touched, I suggest you get a review by your treating doctor. Kind regards
