On Therapy Post Rotator Cuff Surgery, Have Acquired Pain Under Clavicle Since. Is This Common?

I had rotatr cuff surgery on the left side. I have been in therapy for the past 1-1/2 months. Recently I have acquired pain about inch and a half under my clavicle close to my shoulder. Is this common in rotator cuff surgery, or should I be worried about a lumph gland problem in that area? Please advise. My email is YYYY@YYYY . Thanks.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hai,

Thanks for writing in,

You can expect such pain during physiotherapy/ mobilisation of shoulder. Usually the overhead activities in the shoulder can cause such pain. Sometimes in addition to rotator cuff repair, surgeon might also perform a sub-acromion decompression for better results.

The pain usually settles down as you start doing your routine activities. If pain is more you can keep ice packs over the site, avoid overhead activities till the pain reduces. Discuss with your doctor.

Wish you a good health.
