Is A Surgery Required To Treat A Back Pain Post Injury?
I am a 52 year old female who, in June will be two years since I was in a car accident that tore my rotator cuff, my cervical and Lumbar vertebra now has bulging and herniated disk...I have pain now in both hips, and nerve pain down my leg...the doctors have not suggested surgery on my back. But I have had Rotator cuff repair. I am unable to sleep from the pain and I have uncontrollable jerking with my arms and legs when I can sleep. If they feel I don t need surgery, then why won t they prescribe vicoden or something similar to make my life more manageable?
chronic neuropathic pain gets better with drugs like gabapentin, pregabalin, tramadol, amityptaline etc. If medicines are not relieving you your pain physician might suggest some nerve blocks also after proper history, examination and seeing you radio logical tests. Visit your pain physician early for proper medicines to take care of your pain and sleep.
