On Thyroid Medication, Severe Muscle Pain And Fatigue. Urge To Use Laxatives, Forced Vomiting For Weight Loss. Help
How can i lose weight while taking thyroid medication which seems to be adding it rapidly.I was small before and its to the point that Im considering laxatives and forced votiming after every thing I intake except water. I've tried discontinuing the med, only for other hypothyrodism symptoms to manifest. I have a healthy diet and I'm as active as I can be considering the muslce pain and extreme fatigue that i can't fight through.
Hypothyroidism is associated with weight gain. Using the thyroid replacement would prevent further weight gain and may actually help with weight loss.
If you stop the thyroid replacement medication and the levels the hormone decrease then you are likely to regain weight. If you can take enough replacement therapy to normalise your thyroid levels then it should help in your weight efforts.
Forced vomiting would result in electrolyte abnormalities, tooth decay and possible damage to the esophagus.
If you are having problems losing weight you may want to consult a nutritionist or weight loss doctor.
I hope this helps
