On Treatment For Depression. Taking Beta Cap, Serlift, Trixide And Amitone. Can Amitriptyline Cause Cardiovscular Problem. Suggest?

Dear Doctor,
Greetings from VJ Thomas! (Age 54)
I have been on treatment for depression since 1998 with the following medicines: Beta Cap, serlift, Trixide H, Amitone [Tryptomer]. Recently I had an angioplasty. I happen to read that Amitriptyline can cause cardio-vascular problems. I find it difficult to manage without antidepressants. What is the alternative? What would you suggest? I would be obliged to you for your advice.

NO Amitriptyline is some how safe drug as log as the cardiovascular disease are concern, this drug being used since long being when the incidence of cardiovascular disease was low, if you are taking this tab, and you got some cardiac problem then it nothing to take with this tab. have nice day.

If you are on it for a long time, no need to change..
See your cardiologist / get yourself examined ...
The treating doctor alone can suggest based on his assessment of the situation.
