Hi,
Novomix 70/30 contains 30% soluble
insulin aspart, aspartprotamine 70%. It is an rapid acting type of insulin. Insulin injection can be taken in different ways like syringes, insulin pens, insulin pumps, jet injectors. insulin is injected subcutaneously, drug is injected in to the tissue layer between the skin and the muscle.
This route is usually preferred as medication given this way is absorbed more slowly so to prevent. The side effect of
hypoglycemia. I usually advice the patients to daily rotate the injection site, as injection given at same site for long duration causes
lipodystrophy.
1. Rotate to different areas of abdomen keeping injection sites about an inch a part.
2. Areas around
scars and
moles are avoided as they may interfere with insulin absorption.
3. In thigh region it is injected in to the top and outer areas of thigh about 4 inches down from the top of your leg, 4 inches up from knee.
4. In arm area is back of arm between shoulder and elbow.
5. Upper buttocks or hips.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pavani
