Open Sore On The Clitoris. Diagnosed With HPV. Severe Pain. Need Medication

I have unfortunately been diagnosed with HPV but I ve recently found an open sore on the tip of my clitoris and it is extremely painful, especially if I accidentally touch it or it rubs on panties. I can t even walk without it hurting. I put petroleum jelly so it doesn t stick to my panties. I put A&D ointment on it but it felt like someone set fire to my clitoris. Is there anything else I can use to help it heal faster and relieve the pain or do I just have to be miserable and wait for it to heal? Thank you!

Hello
Thanks for your query.
HPV infection does not cause open sores in general. It causes genital warts.
Open sores indicate either infection with herpes, syphilis, chancroid etc.
It might be a canker sore due to other reasons like infection, friction etc, but the commonest is sexually transmitted diseases, with Herpes being the leading reason.
The ointment to be applied depends on the cause, so please see a consultant soon.
Also, in case of herpes, antiviral therapy leads to resolution of open sores.
Take care.

Hi,
To relieve pain, you must avoid all irritants, like underwear, tight clothes, pads, panty liners etc. You may also use Local Xylocaine gel 2% to relieve pain. There are several causes for the sores. Management depends on the cause for the same.
If it is infected, you need some local antibiotic Ointments, like Tetracycline or Bactroban Oint. It could be Herpes simplex , for which you need Acyclovir Ointment as well as oral Acyclovir tablets.
HPV virus, is a sexually transmitted virus, though it has many strains, and few of them are high risk to develop cancer of the cervix. Others may disappear spontaneously. SO I would advice you to go for tests to know the type of HPV Strains.
I hope this will help you relieve your pain, and sore.
If you need specific treatment, may be you can provide more information like any other symptoms, Lymphnode enlargement, etc.
