Ovarian Cyst. What Does Multi Septated Follicle Mean?

Hi, I was just diagnosed with an ovarian cyst as well as what appears to be a multiseptated follicle noted. Can you explain to me what does multiseptated follicle mean?

hello and thank you for asking HCM,

I understand your concern. A septated ovarian cyst is a cyst that is segmented and can be either a complex cyst or a functional cyst. You should have a septated ovarian cyst evaluated by a physician to look for the best treatment methods. If the septated cyst is a straightforward cyst, the doctor may recommend a "watch and wait" approach, that means to watch and wait to see if the cyst grows in size. Whether it is a complex septated cyst chances are it's going to be removed using a laparoscopic procedure and then evaluated for cancer.
So best think is to talk to your gynecologist to deside which approach is the best for you.
