Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I got overheated riding my bicycle from noon to 2 p.m. yesterday in a 90+ temperature. I'm a 55 year old woman. I was hydrating myself during the ride but got weak, my lips and mouth out excessively dry; my skin was goose-pimply all over. I managed to get to a shady area...stopped for 15 minutes to cool my body down, but since then I've felt excessively weak. It's been over 16 hours since my ride, but I'm still not feeling "right." Are these symptoms normal after heat exhaustion?
JUST KEEPING HYDRATED WHILE WORK WONT HELP. FOR NOW, AS YOU HAVE OVEREXERT YOURSELF ,REST IS VERY IMPORTANT. HAVE LOTS OF FRESH FRUITS , FRUIT JUICES , MILK PRODUCTS . HAVE MULTIVITAMIN TONIC (LIKE A-Z SYRUP). AND MOST IMPORTANTLY GIVE REST TO YOUR TIRED BODY. ENGAGE WITH SOME KIND OF LIGHT EXERCISE IN MORNING. ADD 2 TEASPOON OF SUGAR AND SLIGHT SALT TO ONE GLASS OF WATER AND DRINK SLOWLY.KEEP HYDRATED YOURSELF WITH PLAIN WATER TOO.
TAKE CARE
