My PNS CT Scan says '" Right maxillary sinus show minimal mucosal thickening. Polypoidal mucosal thickening noted on the left side . Bilateral OMU appear occluded with mucosal thickening" .
My question is ... Is an endoscopy mandatory or can i opt for some medication like nasal sprays etc. Please suggest.
Hi Ms. Divya, With this scan picture and if you do not personally experience any breathing discomfort, you can go for medical management with decongestants, anti-histamines and a course of antibiotic with supportive treatment. Endoscopy can be reserved for a later stage. You can use steam inhalations along with nasal sprays. Intense medical management has been shown to be of much use in such picture. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you good health.
