Pain And Difficulty Making Fist. History Of Broken Metacarpal. Thoughts?
i had a broken metecarple and it was repaired by putting screws in to hold the broken bone. Now, 6 months later i am still having trouble with my hand, when i make a fist it feels real tight around the knuckle and somewhat painful. my knuckle is about 3/8" shorter than it was before the brake, and i am thinking this could be the cause for the tightness? A hand specialist said he cannot really get the bone back to normal and the tightness should go away over time. Whats your thoughts?
Hi, You had broken metacarpal boe and repaired by putting screws, after 6 months also having pain, making a fist. First of all you should leave the fear of pain, that is physiotherapy, try to do every work you can do with that hand, if no relief consult a physiotherapist , if still no relief, consult an orthopedic surgeon for removing plates and screws, if after 1 month no relief you have to get osteoclasis and cast, for 6 weeks more. Don't worry first 2 steps will solve your problem. Thank you.
