Pain Below Breast. Have Acute Bronchitis. Unable To Have Bowel Movement. Need Laxative?

I went to see an er dr. on monday 9/23 for severe pain I though was my right side ribs below my breast . The dr. said that I have a strained chest muscle. We believe it may have occured because I ve been suffering from acute bronchitis . So unfortunately I have to cough and the pain is very severe. I am working but feel very uncomfortable. To make matters worse I have been unable to have a bowel movement since Monday 9/23. I just don t feel able to. Do I get a laxative or let this run its course? I m also concerned this could be adding to my chest/rib area pain.

Welcome to HCM.
Chest pain is most likely due to muscle sprain after severe coughing.
You have to take oral nsaid with muscle relaxant under guidance of your doctor.
Apply nsaid gel locally will be helpful.
You can take isabgool or any routine laxative under guidance of your treating doctor.
Steam inhalation will be helpful to relieve lung congestion.
Complete course of all medicines given by your doctor, keep in touch with your doctor.
