Pain Below Left Ankle Bone While Walking. No Pain While Running And With High Heels. Suggest
I have recently gotten back into running. I run about 3.5 miles 3-4 times a week. Yesterday just below my left ankle bone, I started having a pain when walking. It did not hurt when running this morning and did not hurt when wearing heels at work (high heels), but I got home and put on socks to walk around the house... it hurts. It does not make sense to me!
Hi and welcome to HCM and Thanks for the query. Hope you are in good spirit. If the pain is mild not severe i would suggest you for massage and cold application over it and avoid heels and give rest to the foot.Avoid running and much walk till it comes to normal. And if doesnot recover with rest and massage then, The important thing is to identify the affected tissue in order to make an accurate diagnosis.
Under the outside ankle bone (the lateral malleolus) is the calcaneus or heel bone, the calcanelfibular ligament, The peroneal tendons the lateral calcaneal nerve. The peroneal retinaculum and other soft tissues.
Treatment is dependent on the tissue affected.
Hoping good health for you. Many Thanks, Dr Shilpi Gupta
