Pain, Bruising After Breaking Concrete Brick. Movements Painful. X-ray Required?
About a week ago I was attempting to break a concrete brick in preparation for my black belt test. I immediately had pain. There was some minor bruising on my palm but no swelling . I have pain in a very isolated area on the top of my hand and certain movements are quite painful. Considering whether to have it xrayed or not .worried it may be fractured.
I am so sorry to hear what you experienced during this practice session. From the information you have providede, the best way forward is to get this hand xrayed to tell whether there is any fracture or not. This will be very important to decide what management plan is best for you at this time.
For now, you may consider resting the hand, using cool compress and pain killers to control the pains while you plan meeting with your doctor.
I hope you find this useful and informative. If you have more questions, please ask us and we shall gladly provide answers. I wish you good health. Dr. Ditah, MD.
