Pain During Elbow Movement, Warmth, Bump At The Bone Tip. Pain Moving From Finger To Hand. Can It Be Arthritis Or Ganglion?

I have extreme pain when I move my elbow . it seems to be warm and has spongy bump at the tip f the bone. It first started with pain in my index finger which now has moved to my hand: there is a small spongy bump on my hand now and also the elbow. I am not sure if its artheritis or an infection or a ganglion . I am 44 years old and have not has any symtoms like this before.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.

According to your description it seems like olecranon bursitis. It is a condition characterised by pain, redness and swelling around the olecranon, caused by inflammation of the elbow's bursa.

It commonly occurs due to repeated minor injuries, such as repeated leaning on the point of the elbow on a hard surface.

I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination and treatment plan according to that.

Regards.
