Pain In Ankle After Running Followed By Swelling Around Ankle, Painful Pull In Leg To Buttocks, Tingling In Knee And Ankle. Advice

After running over a week ago my ankle started hurting. After a week of pain I have a small pocket of swelling around the ankle, I can feel a painful pull along the back of my leg all the way up the buttocks and I'm feeling tingling in my knee and ankle. I have a doctors appt but she couldn't get me in until November. What could be wrong?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The swelling around the ankle along with pain can be due to a ligament injury or a stress fracture in the area. This needs a proper examination and investigations like X-ray and MRI scan of the affected area to find out the cause.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
