Pain In Right Jaw After Eating, Difficulty In Chewing. Took Prednisone, Anti Inflammatory, Face And Head Pain

I was eating and had a pain in my right jaw joint. It got to where my mouth would not close and I could not chew. Went to the doctor, he gave me prednisone and an antinflammatory. I used it and it helped some but now my face hurts as well as my joint. My head hurts at the base of my head and I am just half miserable half the time.

Hello,

The pain while eating/chewing as well as difficulty in closing mouth may be due to-

Dislocation or inflammation of T M J.

I would advice you to get a thorough clinical evaluation as well as x-ray evaluation of the involved area.

Also check whether wisdom tooth has erupted or is it still impacted?

If impacted,get it extracted.

Complete course of antibiotics-analgesics has to be administered.

Avoid mouth opening too widely.

I wish you good health.
