Pain In Right Side And Numb Feeling Below Waist After Falling Down. What Could Be The Problem?

My mom fell down the stairs at her job in a group home, my dad took her to the Er, they took some cat scans, and it showed she had No broken bones or fractures. It s been 2days and she says she s in a lot of pain and that the right side below her waist is numb. What could be the problem?

Hi,

After fall it might have hurt lower backbone with fracture. But there may be nerve compression on right side leading to numbness and pain. Regular analgesics will not work in this case. You should give her a lumbar support belt for back rest. Vit B12 and a shot of dexamethasone will help relieving pain and numbness. If no improvement is seen, she has to go for MRI lower spine.
