Pain In The Chest. EKG And X-ray Reports Normal. What To Do?

Hello, I have been having chest pains since high school, and I am now 22 years old. I recently had an x ray and ekg done for the first time and doctors always tell me everything is normal but for the past month, the pain has been consistent..mostly when I sleep. Pain medicine doesnt ever work. Also, the pain isnt sharp. It almost feels like a sore knot. What do you suggest I do? Thank you kindly.

hi,
chest x-ray and ecg to rule out cardiac and respiratory problem.

it might be due to gastritis, but you have not mention any gastric complains.

so posibility of anxiety disorder can be there,
is there any stressor??
have you any thought about nature of illness and prognosis and excessive worries about it??
have you any depressive feelings??
have you any big social or financial problem??

if it is due to anxiety then anti anxiety medication( sertraline + clonazepam) and counseling is helpful to you.
I find this answer helpful
