Pain In The Lower Back And Buttocks, Difficulty In Walking. History Of Arthritis. Any Suggestions?

i get a gnawing pain in lower back and buttocks when i turn on either side in bed at night also i can get it when lying on my back. i have difficulty when trying to get up after sitting down also getting up and down stairs. i sometimes feel as though my brain is not telling my legs how to move. during the day i come over completely exhausted.i also get pains in my neck. i have been diagnosed with arthritis in my spine but have been told nothing can be done. i am 78 but have always been very active so this has come hard. another thin i have noticed is my hands and feet although they feel o.k. are always so cold. any suggestions please

Hello.Also of History of arthritis,in a person with pain in the lower back and buttocks and difficulty in walking,other diagnosis should be considered
for example vertebral disc disease.You must go to a neurosurgeon.He
will examine you and,possibly,will request additional test(nuclear magnetic resonance-MRI)to confirm or exclude that diagnosis.
