Pain In Thumb, Left Foot, Trying To Conceive. X-flam Cream Used. Suggestions?

Hi Doctor,

Greetings..!!

Many thanks in advance for helping me.
My right hand's thumb is paining a lot. And so is the inner portion of my left foot (not palm, the portion which touches my right foot when joined together while standing). I am sure that I did not get hurt. I have any family history of any such disease as well. My husband always says that I do excessive house-hold tasks, which can be a reason for this paid :)

At this moment, I am gently massaging the effected portions with cream X-Flam (Diclofenac Diethylamine, Linseed Oil, Methyl Salicylate & Menthol Gel). It does give me slight relief though.

My periods are absolutely regular and gynaec doc said that I am very healthy.
I am very worried and we are trying to have a baby. Please advise what can be a reason for this pain, is this a reason why I am not able to conceive so far ?

Thanks once again.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear,
Pain in Thumb: As u have not specifically said which joint it is little difficult to opine on cause of that.
Pain in Lt Foot : Exact location of pain is also not mentioned here as well.
But as per your history it is at more than one joint site and it seem it is bothoring you since few weeks(I assume).
I think you have done right thing by applying anti-inflammatory ointment locally but it is providing you little relief. In such situation you need to consult a Orthopeadic surgeon to rule out the cause of such pain. Commonly these joints (locations you have mentioned) are involved either in Gout or Rheumatoid artthritis.
Ortho surgeon may suggest u to undergo certain blood investigation like RA test, Uric acid level test, etc and also suggest on some medication which you need to take. Considering that you want to go for Conceiving your child it is better to resolve this issue as these can aggravate with pregnancy, but rest assured this is not a reason for not conceiving.
