Pain Under Rib Cage And In Shoulder Blade

Hi,
I've had persistent pain under my rib cage, predominantly on the right side, for a considerable length of time. My doctor checked for swelling about 18 months ago but the pain is still there. More recently, it nerver seems to let up and has moved round to the back. I also get a pain under my right shoulder blade , although this is more intermittent. Also when i twist round it feels as if something as got caught in my ribs and it causes severe discomfort but it doesn't feel muscular.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain in the shoulder blade and under the rib cage is likely to be related to a rotator cuff tendonitis. Hot fomentation and oral muscle relaxants with pain killers usually help in decreasing such symptoms.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL http://bit.ly/Dr-Praveen-Tayal
