Painful And Sore Throat On The Right Side Of The Neck

Hi Doc, my throat is sore , but not straight throat is like the right side of the neck, its kind like a vein, every time i move my head or swallow something while looking on the left this becomes very painful, I don t know what to take, this started last week already and it does not stop.

Hi, Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.
Your History Suggests, Tonsillitis. Kindly get yourself examined by a ENT Specialist as you will require antibiotics and analgesics. Kindly don't panic as it is a common condition. Tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils, two oval shaped pads of tissue at the back of the throat, one tonsil on each side. Tonsillitis is most often caused by a common cold virus, but other viral and bacterial infections can also be the cause. In addition to Medications, you will require Home care remedies. Get adequate rest, Drink plenty of water to keep the throat moist and prevent dehydration. Warm liquids like tea or warm water with honey and cold treats like ice pops can soothe your sore throat. Do salt water gargles several times as day. If you smoke, QUIT.
